Theses/Research: (1). Development of recombinant antigen nucleocapsid protein (NP) of human parainfluenza virus type 3 (hPIV-3) (Faculty Exchange Scholar in USA); (2).Trypanosoma evansi in Northern Ethiopia: Epidemiology, Diversity and alternative diagnostics (PhD), (3). Use of Random Amplification of Polymorphic DNA for Identification of Potential Molecular Markers of Trypanosoma (T.) brucei (b.) brucei, T. b. rhodesiense and T. b. gambiense (MSc Degree) and (4). Equine Histoplasmosis (Epizootic lymphangitis): preliminary treatment trial, and isolation and characterization of bacterial contaminants (DVM).

Current Research area: Animal trypanosomosis, pasteurellosis, Epizootic lymphangitis, molecular epidemiology of pathogens, drug resistance, identification of markers for diagnostics and vaccines, skin and hide quality, TB diagnosis.

Teaching experience: Preventive medicine, animal health extension and pastoralism for DVM students while for MSC students the courses that I regularly teach are control of tropical diseases of large animals (cattle, small ruminants, equines camels), vector biology (tsetse flies), molecular biology.
